BNP Paribas Acquires Stakes in Hero MotoCorp and IndusInd Bank via Bulk Deals
BNP Paribas Financial Markets, an affiliate of the Paris-based financial services giant, has made significant investments in two Indian companies through bulk deals on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The firm purchased a 0.97% stake in Hero MotoCorp for ₹1,035 crore ($124 million) at an average price of ₹5,302.91 per share. Separately, it acquired a 1.36% stake in IndusInd Bank for ₹772 crore ($92 million) at ₹723.60 per share.
Hero MotoCorp's shares edged up 0.33% to close at ₹5,345.50 following the transaction, while IndusInd Bank saw a stronger 3.07% gain to ₹734.60. The deals underscore growing institutional interest in India's automotive and banking sectors, though BNP Paribas also divested a smaller portion of IndusInd Bank shares worth ₹58 crore.
